Anyone ever tried soaking hot dogs in WD-40?
Its working here. Tried this thing a few days ago, catching bait in the winter here is almost impossible. Ran out of menhaden, got just a few cut baits, bought most of them from Food Lion grocery store. Most are croakers that they sell 5 for 3 bucks or so. They work but not well. Thought I'd try hot dogs soaked in WD-40. This works good with tin foil for channel cats, hoped it might work on hot dogs.............................................I got a lot of mud turtles on this.................Didn't mind, like turtles, VERY good eating. BUT.................I got one really good yellow catfish, we call 'em mudheads, at 22lbs 7ozs..............I'm gonna post a pic as soon as I can get it uploaded here.

All you gotta do is cut up a cheap pack of hot dogs at about 2 inches or so, put 'em in an old butter tub, spray a can of WD-40 in 'em, put the lid on, put 'em in the fridge. Next morning, these things swell up about double the size. Put 'em on a treble hook, use a throw line, and wait...............

I was very suprised!and happy with this!

I tried it a couple weeks ago and it works geat. I did a google and some people use little smoked hotdogs. I'm thinking about trying them.

I'm huntin right now but I'm going to try some after huntin season

I'm doing the hunting and fishing thing at the same time. We call it a blast and cast here. I keep about a dozen throw lines set, check and re-bait in the early morning, then go deer hunting.............................Works real well here.

Hi again guys,
The fishing has slowed quite a bit, but the hunting has picked up a little. Not been doing too bad. Its not as many turtles now...........................But..........................Got 5 mudheads last night, biggest was 4lbs, 3ozs. Find the deepest hole you can......................almost gotta put this right on top of a biggun's nose.......... but it works! This is the best winter bait I've ever used! LOVE these WD-40 hotdogs!
